Roan antelope, Nyika Plateau in Malawi
Defining Malawi are the vast, sparkling waters of Lake Malawi, which cover about a fifth of the country’s surface and offer visitors a place to snorkel, dive and kayak. But, there are many other places to go on your trip to Malawi. Our specialists have journeyed to each area of the country and can help you decide on the best places to spend time.

Opt for a safari in Liwonde National Park, south of the lake, and you might see buffalo, elephant, hippo or rare black rhino. Explore the walking trails around the green foothills and tea plantations of the Thyolo Region, where you can stay on a tea estate to learn more about the area’s colonial past. Or, spend a few nights on unspoiled Likoma Island, visiting Saint Peter’s Cathedral, built in 1905 by Anglican missionaries.
