Cerf Island is a small granitic island, a ten-minute boat ride from the east coast of Mahé.

It sits within a cluster of small islands, including Round, Cachee, Long and Moyenne.

All the islands are privately owned and very sleepy and relaxed. Cerf Island has two tiny hotels and a few private houses, while the other islands just have clusters of private houses.

Beaches of Cerf Island

Cerf Island has lots of white sandy beaches around the island. In the early morning a walk along the beaches is beautiful. There are pretty Creole houses backing onto the beach, the sand is soft and white, and sea like glass. Situated in the marine park the coral reefs are protected and offer some superb snorkeling opportunities.

The island interior is covered in lush vegetation and rises to the highest point of 108 m. Ghost crabs scuttle over the white sand and barred doves chatter in the takamaka trees.

It's a lovely little island, ideal for anything from a two night to a week's stay.
