Sausage Tree Camp has a lovely position, overlooking the grassy islands of the Zambezi's floodplains, and out to the rugged escarpment. There are often buffalo and elephant grazing on the islands, and crocodiles in the sandy channels.
It's a luxurious camp, in a fabulously wild location. Sausage Tree has seven stylish luxury suites constructed from canvas and eco textiles, decorated in soft linens, natural wood and modern furniture. Each suite is built close to the river's edge allowing unrivaled views over the reed islands in front of camp that teem with wildlife. Each suite has a lounge area, indoor bathroom with open-air shower, glass sliding doors leading onto a spacious veranda with outdoor lounge area and private plunge pool.
There is one larger suite, Kigelia House, which has a beautiful open dining and living area separating two en suite bedrooms. There is a private pool to the front. As at the main camp, private guiding is guaranteed and you can enjoy private dining from your deck.
Each guest room has its own Muchinda (personal butler), 24-hour power for the lights, plus overhead fans and power sockets for charging devices. The main lodge is very open, with a huge deck right to the riverfront with plenty of seating and even a telescope on offer to get a close up view of the nearby wildlife. There is also a large swimming pool.
Activities at Sausage Tree are incredibly varied. Uniquely for this park, private guiding is provided as standard, so you can really tailor your safari to your own interests. You can enjoy boat trips on the river, game drives, guided walks and fishing. A particular highlight is a morning canoe trip down the channel adjacent to the camp. The camp is situated in the heart of the park, and is surrounded by some particularly pretty game loops.
