Directly situated on the shore of a turquoise lagoon and within close proximity to nearby traditional villages, Cap Karoso is perfectly located to immerse yourself in Sumba’s beauty, rich heritage, and wild topography. There are 44 rooms and 20 two- and three-bedroom villas, each celebrating Sumbanese culture with custom-made art and ceramics, combined with modern comforts.
Located a short cycle from the property, Cap Karoso’s organic farm began in 2019 on a nearby three-hectare plot. What was once unused, rocky land is now covered in fertile organic gardens and provides many of the ingredients used in the property’s restaurants. The farm also hosts a training programme in landscaping and farming skills with the aim of offering younger generations valuable skills in agriculture. Finding a balance between cultural discovery and indulgence, the resort offers a wide variety of activities to choose from, including but not exclusive to, agricultural lessons, fishing experiences, village visits, cooking classes, birdwatching tours, and sunset cruises.
Other facilities at the Cap Karoso include two large swimming pools, three restaurants, a creative kid's club and a Malala Spa located in a traditional Sumbanese house in the heart of the resort.
Luxury lifestyle in an awe-inspiring location, Cap Karoso is the gateway to western Sumba and beyond.

Rooms
Even the lead-in studio at Cap Karoso has plenty of space and arguably some of the best views of the entire property. All rooms feature king-size beds and walk-in showers along with bespoke artwork and hand-crafted ceramics. There are also 20 villas, each with private swimming pool, outdoor living space, and direct beach access from the three-bedroom Beachfront Villa.
