Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof

Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof

Ghent, Belgium

Mixing cool, contemporary elegance with opulent Louis XIV architecture, the Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof offers a comfortable stay with luxe amenities just a short walk from the heart of Ghent.

Built in 1724 for the poet Baron Olivier Reylof, the historic home boasts many elegant features like rich parquet and marble floors, a grand spiral staircase and gold-and-marble-painted walls. Side rooms, both upstairs and down, offer relaxing respites in a mixed style, with grand mantelpieces, gilded paintings and contemporary furniture where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or a book.

The rooms reflect the more modern side of the hotel’s design, with grey and other neutral tones, clean lines and plenty of natural light. Some have parquet floors or wooden-beamed ceilings. The Spa Reylof, offering a heated indoor pool, saunas and treatment options, has exposed original beams in a high vaulted ceiling.

There are several dining options at the hotel, including the signature LOF Restaurant. The name — it’s both short for Reylof, and the Dutch word for ‘praise’ — reflects the high quality of its gastropub menu. The hotel’s expansive central courtyard offers outdoor seating amid a well-tended garden in the warmer months.

OUR OPINION:

We like the Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof because it offers the widest range of facilities in Ghent, with a particularly enjoyable central courtyard and top-notch restaurant.
