Itinerary idea
With international flights from a choice of airports including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
-
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Belize City.
-
On arriving in Belize City, you're met by an Audley representative and driven to your lodge in the Cayo District by a private transfer. The journey takes almost three hours. In the evening, you'll head out from your lodge on a guided night walk in a small group. Walking through the darkened rainforest, your guide will help you spot wildlife such as snakes, owls, coatimundis and tarantulas. The walk takes around one and a half hours.
-
This morning, you head out on a shared tour to the famous site of Caracol, situated within the Chiquibul Forest Reserve. You'll explore the amazing Mayan archaeological site with your guide and then continue to the Rio Frio cave where you'll have a chance to swim in the refreshing blue waters. You have the afternoon at leisure. Relax at your hotel, or we can arrange activities such as horse riding, mountain biking or river tubing.
-
Today's private excursion takes you to the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, a sprawling complex of 25 temples and palaces. After enjoying lunch, you'll then continue on and explore the cave systems known as Xibalba by kayak before returning to the hotel in the afternoon.
-
Transfer by road back to Belize City where you will take a light aircraft flight to the beach island of Ambergris Caye. The flight takes only 20 minutes, although it may include stops at other cayes en route. On arriving at Ambergris Caye you'll be taken by a taxi transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax after the journey and perhaps visit the hotel's beach.
-
A day at leisure on Ambergris Caye. We recommend taking a snorkelling tour, diving at the Blue Hole or simply relaxing on the beach. We also like visiting the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, which was founded in 1987 as a community conservation initiative. When snorkelling here, you might see turtles, moray eels, rays, and other tropical fish.
-
Just a 20-minute boat ride from San Pedro, your tour to Mexico Rocks will provide an excellent spot for snorkelling with stag horn and elk horn coral formations and a variety of tropical fish species.
-
Today's excursion takes you to more of the top snorkel spots around the Ambergris Caye with the chance to see nurse sharks, southern stingrays and various colourful fish.
-
You'll be transferred to the airport in time to take the 20-minute flight back to Belize City, connecting with your onward international connection.
-
Arrive home today to complete your journey.
