Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Kuching.

  • Arriving in Kuching, you're met by an Audley representative and transferred to your hotel by a private driver. Depending on your flight time, you have the rest of the day to relax — you might like to wander into Kuching this evening to explore many of the local restaurants, cafés and street-food stalls.

  • Enjoy the day discovering the history and beauty of the riverside city of Kuching on a private walking tour with an experienced guide. On foot, explore the narrow alleyways and markets and see many of the temples and churches the city is known for. With a range of colonial influences, from Indian mosques to Chinese temples, your guide can help you understand the town's complex history.

  • Spend the day in Bako National Park with your private guide to spot some of Borneo's stunning wildlife, such as proboscis monkeys, bearded pigs and hornbills. An early start, drive by private transfer 40 minutes outside the city before catching a boat for a 30-minute ride across to the park. This tour can be tailored to your interests, with your guide on hand to help you explore many of the waterfalls, streams and jungle paths.

  • Leave Kuching this morning and visit the Semenggoh Orangutan Centre in time for the morning feeding session with your private guide. Afterwards, continue on your journey with your private guide as you travel into the heart of the jungle, for your homestay experience in Kampong Nyegol. Hop on a boat to cross Lake Bengoh, where you will be greeted by your hosts and taken on a short tour of the village in the afternoon to explore local village life. If weather permits, a night walk is possible after dinner.

  • Rise early this morning and enjoy the mist rising from the surrounding mountains. After breakfast, take a 20-minute boat ride across the lake to Kampong Sting, with stunning views out over the lake and the surrounding countryside. After exploring the village, embark on a trek for around an hour, along a trail to a waterfall. Enjoy a traditional lunch of chicken in bamboo, before returning to your boat. Cross back across the lake and reconvene with your driver, where you will be transferred back to Kuching for the evening.

  • This morning you're collected from your hotel for a private transfer to Kuching Airport to catch your short flight to Kuala Lumpur. On arrival in Kuala Lumpur, an Audley representative will meet you and accompany you to your hotel by private transfer, with the rest of the day at your leisure to explore the city.

  • Kuala Lumpur is best explored on foot, with historic buildings blending with tall skyscrapers, shopping malls and ethnic districts that feature many street-food markets, as you discover some local delicacies.

  • This morning you depart for the flight to the northwest coast, as you transfer to the tropical island of Langkawi where you will have four nights at the charming Casa del Mar, situated along the golden sands of Pantai Cenang beach.

  • Today you have the day to enjoy the resort. You might like to explore the surrounding waters by booking a private boat excursion to a nearby island or bay.

  • Enjoy the relaxation and activities on offer at your hotel, where you can arrange spa treatments to cooking classes or venture further afield to explore the island on a mangrove tour.

  • Spend your last day enjoying the sunshine and sights of Langkawi. For any shopping opportunities, Kuah Town is worth a visit as the island is known for being a duty-free port, or perhaps explore the natural side of the island at the UNESCO Geopark which features flora and fauna dating back millions of years.

  • Depart today for your transfer to Langkawi Airport and your onward flight.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
