I first caught the travel bug at a young age when I used to travel with my family, but my travel journey really started in 2007 when I visited Thailand for the first time and developed an unshakable love of travel.

Fast forward a few years and I have now worked within the travel industry for the last seven years and have never looked back. I have been fortunate enough to have visited many countries across the globe but my most recent, extensive trip to Canada with Audley truly has been my most unforgettable trip yet.

Starting in Vancouver and travelling west to east, experiencing snow-capped mountain landscapes, the bluest lakes, amazing wildlife and characterful cities; some of my best moments along the way included whale watching in Victoria, zip-lining through Whistler and helicopter trip over the Rockies in Alberta. It’s safe to say, Canada has my heart.

Q&A with Amy

Poutine on the Walking Food Tour of Qu茅bec City

What鈥檚 the best local dish you鈥檝e tasted?

The best local dish I tried was poutine 鈥 a simple one, but a golden one. It consists of fries, cheese curds and gravy. The dish originates from Québec but is served all over Canada and is genuinely one of the best combinations of food I鈥檝e ever had.

Breaching humpback whale, Vancouver Island

What鈥檚 your most vivid travel moment?

My most vivid travel moment to date was actually very recent whilst exploring Canada. I went on a whale watching trip in Victoria on Vancouver island. We were on a small boat of 12 people and we followed a humpback whale for over an hour. It was the most magical time with the mountain landscape backdrop and the 鈥榝lukes鈥 the humpback was performing for us. This was the very moment I fell in love with Canada.

Hollyford Track, New Zealand

Where would you love to travel next?

The next country on my bucket list is New Zealand. It has many similarities with Canada when it comes to breathtaking views and mountain scenery and that the North and South Islands are so different, very much like the provinces in Canada. But the thing that intrigues me most about New Zealand is their indigenous people and M膩ori culture.
