Nestled between the mountain peaks on Waterton village's lakeshore, this charming historic lodge, opened in the late 1920s, has plenty of character. The log style building is reminiscent of a country inn, furnished with antiques and photographs evoking the history of the park.
The guest rooms are individually decorated, and many have views of the lake. The lodge's award-winning restaurant is popular with guests and locals alike with lakeside views, while the Kilmorey Pub is a favourite hot spot to enjoy a frosty drink, has its own menu and a patio overlooking the lake to enjoy a sundowner.
Kilmorey Lodge offers a traditional stay with care taken to ensure guest comfort. While on the outskirts of town, it’s easy to walk in, and the views over the bay make it one of our favourite stops in the area.

Rooms
The guest rooms have either a view of the lake across the lawn, or of the mountains surrounding Waterton. All rooms are designed in a traditional style with warm colours and dark wood furnishings, and each will have either a king bed or two queen beds. All are fitted with modern conveniences including a coffee machine and comfortable bathrobes, along with the additional space of a private balcony or terrace to take in the fresh air. The high ceilings and balconies help make the rooms feel even more spacious.
Location
Kilmorey Lodge is located on the shores of Emerald Bay, one of the many bays of Waterton Lake. The town of Waterton is small so, while the lodge is on the outskirts, it’s only a ten-minute walk to the visitor centre and more central town area. The region of Waterton Lakes lies just a few hours south of Calgary and just over the border from the USA, meaning several hikes enjoy views over to the USA’s Glacier National Park.
Food and drink
The lodge is home to both a restaurant and pub, both enjoying a terrace with views over the lawn and Emerald Bay. Kilmorey Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, showcasing local ingredients crafted with care, and an extensive wine list. The pub is open from mid-afternoon through the evening and is a more casual affair with a warm welcome and cold drinks.
