Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa is a boutique hotel set on a lush tropical reserve at the foot of Arenal Volcano, offering a tranquil retreat with modern touches. Tabacón features flowing thermal springs naturally heated by the Arenal Volcano. The thermal water flows throughout the resort, forming the Tabacón River. In addition, guests over 18 years of age have access to the Shangri-La Gardens, an adults only luxurious hideaway in the resort.
OUR OPINION:
Tabacón offers a comfortable stay and a good range of facilities. This is one of our favourite properties to relax while soaking in mineral rich waters, surrounded by tropical gardens.

The hotel offers climate controlled rooms combining Costa Rican woods and furnishings hand-crafted by Costa Rican artisans. Rooms overlook the gardens, the forest or the volcano. The rooms feature cable TV, personal safe boxes, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa is located near the town of La Fortuna, about 11km (7 miles) west of La Fortuna and slightly north of the Arenal Volcano National Park.

Two restaurants and four bars offer signature dishes from Costa Rica and around the globe.
Facilities and activities
The Tabac贸n experience is based on the hot thermo-mineral springs landscaped to form natural pools and cascades in the heart of the forest. The river flows naturally through carefully planned tropical gardens that feature over 200 species of plants and flowers. The main sunbathing and swimming area features designed pools, the main one with a swim up bar and thermal water slide.
Spa treatments are available in outdoor bungalows, and the spa area includes a mineral spring water Jacuzzi and an outdoor hydromassage pool.
