Rain Forest Aerial Tram

Opened in October 1994, the Rain Forest Aerial Tram is a unique ecotourism and research facility. It is located approximately one hour from San José, adjacent to Braulio Carrillo National Park.

The 2.6 km long ride lasts about 90 minutes and takes you on a fascinating journey through the canopy which is one of the most biologically diverse rainforests in Costa Rica — there is an abundance of plant and animal species both known and unknown!

The canopy of a rainforest is home to two thirds of all rainforest species making the aerial tram ideal for experiencing such a unique ecosystem. On your return you will also pass through the surrounding Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the country's largest protected areas, holding some 6,000 species of plants and most of the endangered animal species found in the country.
