Nadi (pronounced nan-di) lies on the western shores of Viti Levu and is generally the first glimpse of Fiji travellers get.
The town itself sits between the Nadi Bay, the Nausori Highlands and the beautiful Sabeto mountains to the north, and is surrounded by sugar cane fields and local settlements.
Exploring Nadi
The Hindu Swami Temple in the centre of town is testament to the indentured labourers that arrived in the 1800s, and provides a colourful backdrop to the many souvenir shops and restaurants that jostle with each other along the main street.
Nadi is a busy hub for both tourists and locals alike, and although there is little on offer in terms of attractions, you are bound to find yourself a really good curry.
