Arrayed across several historic half-timbered houses, La Maison Des Têtes offers an indulgent stay in the heart of Colmar. The 21 rooms have been thoughtfully updated with all the modern comforts while preserving their 17th-century character — you’ll find original beams exposed alongside sleek, contemporary furniture. The hotel’s location is walking distance from many of the city’s important sights, including the Unterlinden Museum and Place Jeanne d’Arc.
The hotel has two restaurants — the Michelin-starred Girardin, where you can dine on haute cuisine in an airy, minimalist setting, and Brasserie des Têtes, a casual bistro with a menu of traditional Alsatian dishes served from a cast-iron stove.
OUR OPINION:
We love La Maison Des Têtes for its precise balance of modern style and respect for the buildings’ heritage, as well as its exceptional restaurants.
The 21 rooms share a minimalist style, with a grey-and-white palette that contrasts with the hotel’s historic features, like dark beams and wooden panels. Heavy draperies, crisp white linens, and sleek modern furniture add to the understated atmosphere. You can choose from a street or courtyard view, and families can opt for the Duplex or Character rooms, which sleep four.
Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.
