Le Meurice

Paris, France

Once known as the ‘hotel of kings’ due to its popularity with visiting royalty, Le Meurice has been a fixture in Paris since its opening in 1835. The hotel boasts an enviable location on Place Vendôme, just a short walk from the Louvre, and has long been popular with artists and writers.

Extravagant Louis XVI-style decor combines with work by some of history’s greatest artists to give the hotel a classic but contemporary feel. The rooms are decorated with an understated sophistication, with pale, wood-panel walls, period furniture, Italian marble bathrooms, and in some, ornate fireplaces.

Le Meurice also offers world-class dining in the Michelin-starred Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse, classic French dishes in Restaurant Le Dalí, and an intimate environment in Bar 228.

OUR OPINION:

As stylish as it is historic, Le Meurice is a powerhouse of artistic heritage. Effortlessly chic, central, and with fantastic service and a world-class restaurant, this is one of our most-loved hotels in Paris.

Rooms

Decorated in the style of Louis XVI, the guest rooms are simultaneously intimate and grand, providing every comfort from luxurious bed linens to stylish bathrooms. Views overlook the Tuileries Garden, Place Vendôme or the hotel’s peaceful inner courtyard. All rooms feature complimentary Wi-Fi, fresh flowers, a minibar and a flat-screen TV. The lavish marble bathrooms have baths and separate showers, but differ in shape and size due to the age of the building.

Location

Located in the heart of Paris, the hotel is well situated for exploring the city on foot. It overlooks the Tuileries Garden and is on the same street as the Louvre, which can be reached in fewer than 15 minutes on foot. Just across the Seine is the Musée d’Orsay, about a ten-minute walk away. There's also a metro station steps away from the hotel, providing easy access to the rest of the city’s highlights.

Food and drink

The world-class menu at the hotel’s Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse has earned the celebrity chef two Michelin stars. It places value on simplicity and skill in its preparation of haute cuisine. In Le Dalí, a contemporary brasserie, the Mediterranean menu pays homage to the hotel’s former resident. For a relaxing drink, Bar 228 provides an ideal space in which to recline with a signature cocktail.

Facilities and activities

The hotel's spa has a sleek, minimalist decor featuring pale, neutral tones and subtle lighting. The wide range of beauty treatments make use of the latest skincare technology, with therapeutic massages also available. Following your treatment, you can relax on the outdoor terrace with fresh salad and juices.
