A three-minute walk to the towering, Gothic Cologne Cathedral, the Hotel Mondial am Dom is an ultra-modern hotel in the heart of Cologne鈥檚 old town. Its location is its biggest draw, as the waterfront, museums and restaurants are all easily walkable.

The hotel鈥檚 restaurant Reissdorf im Mondial serves regional dishes and draft beers, and was designed to give the ambiance of a modern Cologne brewery while still offering sweeping views of the Cologne Cathedral.

There are 203 rooms at the Hotel Mondial am Dom, decorated with steel, birdcage-like chandeliers and parquet floors. They鈥檙e decorated in a mod style, with pops of blue and yellow.聽

OUR OPINION:

We like this hotel for its hard-to-beat location in the middle of Cologne鈥檚 old town, just steps from the Cologne Cathedral, as well as the friendly service.

Rooms

The 203 rooms have clean and modern lines, and are designed with the high number of corporate visitors in mind. The entry level rooms are small, so we recommend the higher-level rooms where you鈥檒l have more space and cathedral views. There are also six junior suites available. Wi-Fi, air conditioning and en suite bathrooms all come standard.

The decor has a mod feel, with pops of blue and yellow in the decor, and features photos of the Cologne skyline. Each room has a birdcage-type chandelier over the bed, and parquet flooring.聽

Location

This hotel鈥檚 location is by far its biggest draw. It鈥檚 conveniently located steps from the Cologne Cathedral, various museums, shopping streets and the Rhine Garden, where you can walk or cycle along the river and take in the brightly painted rowhouses.

Reissdorf im Mondial restaurant serves regional dishes for lunch and dinner daily.
