Set overlooking the sea on the Costa Navarino, The Romanos resort combines sleek, modern facilities and design with traditional Greek touches and beachside luxury. It’s a peaceful retreat on a relatively unspoiled stretch of the Messinia area of the Peloponnese.
The 321 rooms here all have private terraces and interiors decorated with clean lines, dark polished wood furnishings, and hues of cream and taupe.
Facilities are plentiful, including an infinity pool and a sandy beach with loungers and a beach bar. There’s a spa with a varied treatment menu, a fitness area, tennis courts, and an indoor pool. You also have access to the leisure facilities at the nearby Westin Resort Costa Navarino, which include a water park and volleyball courts. While The Romanos caters mostly to couples, families can use the more family-focused facilities of the Westin Resort Costa Navarino, including their children’s clubs.
Both resorts share a modern version of an agora (an ancient Greek marketplace or gathering place), set in a central square where several restaurants and shops are located. You’ll find an enormous variety of places to eat: throughout the resort there are 14 restaurants and bars, ranging from fine dining to casual seaside tavernas.
For us, The Romanos offers an appealing combination of high-end rooms and plentiful facilities and activities. The beachfront location and sunset views in the evening are another big draw.

Rooms
The rooms here are spacious and well-appointed, while some have features such as private pools. There are also villas with fully equipped kitchens and multiple bedrooms. All rooms have some sort of outdoor space, whether that’s a balcony or a pool terrace. En suite bathrooms, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee making facilities come as standard. Deluxe guest rooms have garden or sea views, while Premium rooms are bigger in size and come with the option of a private pool. The Premium Grand Infinity has a beachfront setting, as do the palatial villas.
Location
The resort sits amid olive groves on the Costa Navarino, a section of Peloponnese coastline with many soft-sand beaches and quiet bays. It’s located in a sprawling area called Navarino Dunes, itself part of a larger development that includes several resorts and golf courses.
