Amanjiwo, the 'peaceful soul' finds itself in the rural heartland of central Java, surrounded by volcanoes, paddy fields and kampongs (small villages). It has Yogyakarta and Solo within easy distance and it overlooks one of the most important Buddhist sites in the world, the Borobudur Temple.
Amanjiwo's main building is framed by 36 suites set in two graceful crescents around the central Rotunda. Limestone walls give shape to stone walkways that link the suites to the main building, the 40-metre infinity swimming pool and the Dalem Jiwo Suite. The suites feature high ceilings, domed roofs and sliding glass doors that open to a garden terrace. Interiors include a central four-pillar bed on a raised platform, coconut wood and rattan furniture and a sunken outdoor bathtub set in a walled garden. Suites have views of either the surrounding farmland and hills or of Borobudur Temple itself, and some come with their own private pool for ultimate privacy and seclusion. Whilst dining in the restaurant or from the exquisite suites you will have views over the Borobudur sanctuary as a centrepiece.

Naturally the main reason for visiting Borobudur is to see the awe-inspiring temple complex. The monument features the largest and most complete collection of Buddhist relief sculptures which feature on the walls of its seven terraces.
