Located on the edge of the giant Gunung Leuser National Park, this area is wild and enchanting with clear, fast-flowing rivers.
The main attraction is the Bohorok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, which was established in 1973 to help captive orangutans re-adjust to life in the wild. Orangutans can usually be seen at one of the feeding platforms and the sight of one of these magnificent creatures swinging through the trees is unforgettable.
Other popular activities here include trekking, rafting, and tubing. We try to arrange your trip so that this area is avoided at the weekend due to crowds of local visitors from nearby Medan.
