With its spacious central courtyard, far removed from the bustle of the nearby streets, the Palazzo Castri 1874 offers an instant sense of calm.
This sophisticated hotel is in a wonderful location just on the periphery of Florence’s historic area, but close enough that everything is within easy walking distance. As such, you can spend your time exploring the city or simply relax in the gardens on a chaise longue, take a dip in the pool or unwind in the spa.
A wonderful classic hotel set in a 19th-century palazzo with a stylish modern twist, this is a perfect choice for romantic getaways or any guest who values peace and relaxation without compromising on a central location.

Rooms
The rooms are minimalist yet classic, featuring wooden beams and modern artwork. Set in an old palazzo, the rooms come in different sizes but are all spacious, with large, marble en suite bathrooms featuring bathtubs and showers. Some also have a private balcony overlooking the leafy park of Piazza dell'Indipendenza or the inner courtyard. Soundproof windows enhance the already peaceful ambience found throughout the hotel.
Location
Just a few streets north of the train station, Palazzo Castri is in a beautiful area of Florence and has excellent views of the leafy Piazza dell’Indipendenza. Approximately a ten-minute walk away from the Duomo and the heart of Florence, this hotel is relatively central and has plenty of good restaurants on its doorstep.
Food and drink
The light and chic Florentia Cafe overlooks the courtyard in the middle of the palazzo and offers an excellent breakfast buffet and light snacks during the day. The Limonaia is an outdoor bar in the courtyard, which can be enclosed on colder days, and is great for a cocktail or glass of wine.
Facilities and activities
Facilities include an excellent spa complete with sauna and steam room, along with a hydro-massage pool that extends out through the building into the gardens.
