Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Nairobi.

  • On arrival in Nairobi, a driver will be waiting to take you to the incredible Giraffe Manor. The rest of the day will then be yours at leisure to relax in the unique grounds, which are home to a number of highly endangered Rothschild's giraffes.

  • Today, after enjoying breakfast with the giraffes, you will have the day to explore. A great option is to visit the nearby Nairobi Elephant Sanctuary, where you can watch the daily feeding of the orphaned elephants rescued by the Sheldrick Trust. A driver from Giraffe Manor will be on hand to enable this if you wish.

  • This morning, your driver will transfer you to Wilson Airport for your light aircraft flight to Amboseli National Park. When you arrive in Amboseli your guide from Tortilis will be waiting to safari drive you back to the camp. You will arrive in time to settle into your room and enjoy some lunch before an afternoon safari activity.

  • Today, you can enjoy morning and afternoon safari activities from Tortilis Camp, set in a private concession on the edge of the famous Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is justly famous for its large wildlife, in particular its elephant and for its great scenic beauty.

  • Today, you will spend another day on safari exploring Amboseli. If you are particularly lucky, in the early morning, you may be treated to a view of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro before the clouds settle in.

  • This morning there will be time for one last safari drive en route to the airstrip. From Amboseli, you will fly back to Nairobi and then to Meru. Again, when you arrive in Meru your guide will be waiting to take you back to camp for a late lunch and an afternoon safari activity. You will stay at the beautifully situated Elsa's Kopje, a viewpoint favoured by Joy and George Adamson when they were living and working in the area.

  • You have both safari drives and guided walks to enjoy in Meru National Park, a beautiful wilderness area that also contains the 'Big Five' species and a specific area for rhino conservation.

  • Enjoy a second day on safari from Elsa's in Meru National Park.

  • Time for a change. This morning you will be transferred back to the airstrip for the shared light aircraft flight to Nairobi and onto the famous open plains of the Masai Mara. Met upon landing by your field guide, you will be transferred the short distance to camp, the beautifully authentic Speke's Camp. Settle into a four-night stay.

  • Today, you will have a full day on safari in the Masai Mara, home to some of the best wildlife viewing anywhere in Africa. You can enjoy private morning and afternoon safaris from your camp as well as breakfast or lunch out in the reserve if you want a longer day of wildlife viewing.

  • Another day exploring more of the Mara on a private safari from Speke's Camp. The guides here are superb and will be keen to ensure you see as much as possible during your time. If you have an animal in particular that you're really keen to see, do let your guide know so they can try to take you to the right areas.

  • The Masai Mara is big cat country, so keep your eyes peeled for lion, cheetah and, of course, the very elusive leopard.

  • This morning you will be taken to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi's Wilson Aerodrome. A driver will then take you to the international airport to meet your onward flights.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
