Set amidst tea plantations and rolling hills, this boutique hideaway promises all the splendour, romance and nostalgia of the Cameron Highlands' grand colonial heritage. Tall French doors, timber-beamed ceilings and plantation shutters add colonial charm and a touch of nostalgia to the rooms. Enjoy a refreshing round of golf, a ramble along jungle trails, or a leisurely walk through tea plantations and strawberry farms. To recover, you can have a cup of tea in the drawing room, or a tea bath at the Spa Village, or you may simply choose to spend the day curled up with a good book by the fireplace.
Cameron Highlands Resort is situated on the largest hill retreat in Malaysia, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, lush greenery, rolling hills and Tudor-styled cottages. The luxurious boutique resort features 56 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, and fronts Cameron Highlands' 18 hole golf course. It also houses the third wellness centre of the award-winning Spa Village group, which offers exotic treatments focusing on the healing and restorative properties of tea.
The accommodation at Cameron Highlands Resort captures the nostalgic elegance of an age where quality and care were a way of life. Bespoke furniture merges with the beauty of Jim Thompson's finest quality fabrics — teak and silk combine to create an environment that is both beautiful and comfortable. Sleep in the comfort of large four-poster beds surrounded by soft cushions, or sit out at the balcony and read a book, whilst nibbling on fresh strawberries and sipping a cup of locally grown tea. Each room features an elegant colonial design that is spacious and very comfortable. There are 56 rooms and spacious suites which include the Deluxe room, Two bedroom suite, Junior suite, Cameron suite and Jim Thompson suite. All rooms and suites enjoy a beautiful balcony/terrace view of the golf course against a backdrop of rolling hills and lush green forest.
The Dining Room, with vista windows overlooking the golf course and the surrounding hills, offers a casual atmosphere for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy the freshest ingredients from the nearby farms. A selection of fruits, pastries, cereal, yoghurt, eggs, waffles and pancakes together with the chef's local specialties are available. There are also a selection of appetisers, soups, grilled items with a local twist and local dishes as well as sinful desserts. Jim Thompson Tea Room is a cosy retreat at any time of the day. The elegant setting makes this the perfect spot for the time-honoured tradition of English afternoon tea. Sit back and leisurely savour finger sandwiches, pastries and home baked scones. Complementing this delicious spread is a wide selection of quality Cameron Highlands teas.
At lunchtime the à la carte menu offers daily traditional English and local specialities as well as salads. Gonbei is open for dinner and serves fresh sashimi, soba, tasty tempura and popular bento sets. The only Japanese restaurant in Cameron Highlands, Gonbei’s open dining concept also features a Sake Bar with a range of traditional Japanese rice wines and Japanese whiskeys as well as pre and after dinner drinks. Please note this only opens when the property is running at a high occupancy.
Throughout the day, the Highlands Bar is the perfect venue for a drink, with an extensive selection of whiskey, cocktails and other drinks in a warm and comfortable setting. In the evening, with music from the resident pianist and the warm ambiance of the fireplace, the bar becomes the place of choice for after-dinner drinks, a game of snooker or just to relax and unwind.
