Located in the heart of Essaouira's old medina, within walking distance of all of the main sites of interest, Ryad Watier offers everything you want from a traditional Moroccan riad. Housed in an old school, the riad's vibrant colours and artwork reflect the ambiance of this creative town on the Atlantic coast.
The guest rooms are arranged over four floors, situated just off the passageways which look over the central courtyard. At the top of the riad awaits a traditional terrace where you can gaze out over the whitewashed historic city and the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean beyond.
This colourful, eccentric property is fantastic for people who want to independently explore the historical city of Essaouira and come back to a riad with a friendly, sociable atmosphere.

Rooms
Traditional in style and size, the choice of rooms and suites is wide enough to accommodate single occupants, couples and families. All are individually decorated with quirky, colourful Moroccan carpets, paintings and decorations. Most suites can sleep three people, but some of the larger options can sleep four to five guests, making them perfect for families. Each suite has an en suite bathroom and a lounge area, with some also offering a fireplace and a terrace area.
Location
Ryad Watier is ideally located in the old city, close to the main shopping streets and main square. Most of our favourite restaurants in Essaouira are also within walking distance of the property.
Food and drink
Breakfast is included during your stay and is usually served in the central courtyard or on the roof terrace looking out to sea. Evening meals can also be enjoyed at the riad, but it's important to let the staff know in advance if you intend to dine there as they change the menu daily depending on which fruit and vegetables are in season. Ryad Watier is licensed to serve alcohol.
Families
Many of the room choices can accommodate up to two adults and three children, with extra beds available for an additional charge. There are three Family Suites, which are spacious and have separate living and bedroom areas, making them perfect for larger families. The riad also offers an evening child-minding service and free cots for children under the age of two.
Facilities and activities
The property has a communal living and dining room where guests can socialise over a drink or simply relax. There's a small spa providing traditional Moroccan massages, while the library is a real highlight, with over 2,000 books! The riad can also organise local excursions such as camel rides, calligraphy lessons and Moroccan Arabic classes.
