Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Yangon.

  • On arrival in Yangon, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

  • This morning, you will be taken on a walking tour of colonial Yangon, visiting the former Post Office and Strand Hotel, to name a few. Late afternoon, your driver and guide will take you to visit the shimmering Shwedagon Pagoda as the sun sets, followed by drinks on 19th Street — the perfect place to people-watch in downtown Yangon.

  • You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the airport where you will fly to Bagan. On arrival in Bagan, you will go on a tour of the city, exploring some of the many temples and stupas that make it such a historical treasure. Toward the end of the day, you will climb one of the larger temples to see the vast area that Bagan's architectural dream covers in time for the sun to slip behind the Ayeyarwady River and mountain pass.

  • Day at your own leisure to continue exploring the beautiful temple complex.

  • You will be met by your driver and guide in a 4x4 jeep this morning and taken on the journey west into the Chin Mountains. The journey is hard-going at times, however extremely rewarding given the off-the-beaten track nature of the Chin State.

  • Today, you will explore Mindat and the surrounding hills with your guide, meeting villagers from various ethnic groups, such as the Dai and Muun.

  • Leaving Mindat this morning you drive through the Chin Mountain range to Mount Victoria. At base camp, you will start the trek over the mountains with your guide to the summit of Mount Victoria. After completing the climb, leave and drive on to Kanpetlet, where you will spend the night.

  • Leaving Kanpetlet you drive back down the Chin Mountain range into the lowlands. The journey is pretty rough and bumpy throughout, and around mid-afternoon, you arrive in Bagan and your accommodation for some pampering.

  • From Bagan, you will fly to Heho, where your driver and guide will take you through the market towns on the way to the pretty colonial hill station of Kalaw. Afternoon at leisure in Kalaw.

  • Today you start your trekking adventure through the hilly terrain from Kalaw to Inle. The trek will take you through a series of villages little visited by tourists. Overnight accommodation is very basic.

  • Continue the trek to its conclusion at the temple of Indein on the banks of Inle Lake where you will enjoy lunch before transferring to your hotel.

  • Today you will go out on Inle Lake in a boat with your guide. Hopefully, you will be fortunate enough to witness the famous leg-rowers and meet the Karen people, or as they are more commonly known, long-neck hill tribes.

  • Free day to rest and relax at Inle Lake and reflect on your adventure in Myanmar.

  • Return to the airport at Heho and fly back to Yangon. You have the use of a guide and driver between flights in Yangon to go out for lunch before returning to the airport in time for your departure flight. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
