Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Bangkok.

  • Travel to Phuket, where you will be met and transferred to your resort in Khao Lak.

  • This morning, you will transfer to Ranong, where you will be met by a cruise representative and assisted through the border into Myanmar to join the Meta IV cruise for the next six days. Enjoy a welcome drink on board, boat orientation and safety briefing before departing toward Hastings Island and dinner on the beach.

  • Passage to Lampi Island, the largest in the region. Brunch on board, followed by a visit to a village of Moken sea nomads. Sail to Clara Island with a dinghy excursion into a nearby mangrove forest.

  • Sail to Pila Island, where you can enjoy a barbecue on the long beach and a jungle walk. Snorkelling opportunities, followed by sundowners on deck.

  • Early-morning sail toward the Mid Group Islands to explore hidden coves and beaches. Visit Frost and Potter Islands, famous for their large fig trees by the beach.

  • Long, leisurely sail toward Zadetkyi Island with its beautiful bays and beaches. Snorkel and explore the pristine reefs and their underwater wildlife.

  • Start sailing early this morning toward Kawthaung, where you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Yangon. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

  • Morning colonial walking tour of downtown Yangon with Southeast Asia's highest concentration of colonial architecture. Your tour includes the former High Courts, Telegraph Office, Post Office and Strand Hotel, to name a few. Late afternoon your driver and guide will take you to visit the shimmering Shwedagon Pagoda as the sun sets, this will be followed by drinks on 19th Street — the perfect place to people watch in downtown Yangon.

  • Take an early flight to Bagan and have the afternoon at leisure.

  • Discover Bagan's temples and ruins on a private tour with your guide.

  • Transfer to the airport for your flight to Heho. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Inle Lake.

  • An early start today to take advantage of the panoramic views of Inle Lake and the Shan Mountains on an early morning balloon flight. Back on land, you will then spend the rest of the day exploring the stilted villages, cottage industries and markets of Inle Lake.

  • Transfer to the airport for your flight to Mandalay. Visit Amarapura, famous for U Bein Bridge and the lost royal city of Inwa, before checking into your hotel.

  • This morning you head out on an exciting tour of Mandalay, which will take you behind the scenes of this bustling city. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely cruise to Mingun to view the colossal remains of King Bodawpaya's Pagoda.

  • Today, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your international departure flight.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
