This 17th-century city palace combines a rich history and extensive antique collection with a convenient location and modern comforts. The elegant building is filled with the owner’s personal antique collection, including a large dollhouse in the entryway, ornate side-tables and a vintage school desk.Â
When you arrive at Hotel Beijers, you’ll ring a doorbell and be welcomed personally with a drink and a snack as you head to the large, antique wooden reception desk.Â
The 15 rooms are all different in style and hue, though all are true to their past with luxe, high-quality furnishings and antique details like an ornate gilded mirror, plush red leather sofa, crystal whisky glasses, original beams, exposed brick walls and slanted ceilings. You’ll also have views out onto the Domtoren.
There are no dining options on-site, but breakfast is brought to your room daily in a picnic basket and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
We like this hotel for its impressive antique collection and historic 17th-century building, combined with modern comforts and warm, personal service.

Rooms
Hotel Beijers has 15 rooms and suites, divided between five categories: Small, Medium, Large, Suites and Cellar Suites. Each is decorated with traditional furnishings and jewel tones. You'll find antique furniture and, in some cases, original architectural designs such as exposed brickwork, wooden beams and slanted ceilings. The Cellar Suites are subterranean, with arched stone ceilings and an old well with a glass lid so you can see the water flow.
All rooms come with en suite bathrooms and Wi-Fi. There is no air conditioning but the rooms are equipped with Dyson cooling fans.
Location
The Hotel Beijers is between the old and new canals of the city, watched over by the looming Domtoren and adjacent to Saint Peter’s Church. It’s a two-minute walk to Saint Martin’s Cathedral, an eight-minute walk to the main shopping district and the boat departure area, and a ten-minute walk to the train station.
