This evening, you board a private salon boat for a sunset cruise along the quietly rippling canals.
-
You have a full day at leisure today, which you can spend relaxing or exploring. Take advantage of our local knowledge and visit our recommended museums and sights, or perhaps venture to the nearby city of Edam, the eponymous home of the renowned cheese.
-
Depart Amsterdam with your private driver and guide for a visit to the hamlet of Zaanse Schans, which boasts a large collection of the original windmills that are a symbol of the Netherlands. The looming structures line the Zaan River, surrounded by neatly trimmed gardens, mill workers’ cottages and tulips in the spring. On return to Amsterdam, you have the afternoon free.
-
Today, you’ll join a private guide for a walking tour of Amsterdam’s Jewish Quarter, learning about the history of Anne Frank and World War II’s impact on the local community, including a stop at the Auschwitz Monument and Jewish Historical Museum. This evening, travel south to The Hague.
-
After a free morning, meet your local guide for a walking tour of the city, home of international peace and justice. Visit significant political, royal and historical landmarks as your guide regales you with tales of the city’s past. End the tour with a stop at the Mauritshuis Museum to see some of the best Dutch paintings of the Golden Age.
-
Depart The Hague for Leiden, where you’ll meet a local guide for a tour of the 17th-century old town, walking the same streets where the town’s best-known resident, Rembrandt, once strolled. You’ll also visit the American Pilgrim Museum and learn the Dutch-American history of these influential Puritans. Return to The Hague for a final evening in the Netherlands.
