Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Lima.

  • Arrive in Lima this morning and take a connecting flight to the pretty colonial city of Arequipa. Your guide will meet you and take you to your hotel in the historic centre. You have the afternoon to enjoy relaxed time in the central square.

  • Enjoy a private guided tour of Arequipa, including a visit to the Santa Catalina Convent — a beautiful walled city within the city itself. In the afternoon, if you want to explore further, you could visit the remains of the Inca mummy, Juanita, at the Santuarios Andinos Museum.

  • Private transfer through stunning scenery into the Colca Valley. You will pass herds of grazing llamas and vicunas overlooked by towering volcanoes. You will reach your hotel in the afternoon, which is the perfect time for a dip in the hotel's private thermal springs.

  • Morning excursion to Condors Cross to look for the famous Andean condor. After this, your journey takes you back through the pretty countryside and past picturesque Andean villages. In the afternoon, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Colca Canyon. Local walks can be arranged if you prefer to be more active.

  • Another scenic journey from the Colca Canyon to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca, with your private chauffeur-guide. We can arrange for you to visit the burial mounds at Sillustani, near Puno, en route.

  • Today, you can choose from a menu of small group excursions on Lake Titicaca. These include trips onto the beautiful lake, walking, and visiting local villages.

  • Further excursions from your luxury hotel on the lake, or alternatively head inland to see some of the local communities — be as active or laid back as you like.

  • Today take the PeruRail Titicaca train across the stunning Altiplano to Cuzco. Enjoy a three-course lunch and afternoon tea served on board. You will be met at the station and drive to your hotel.

  • Private half-day tour of the majestic city of Cuzco and a number of the nearby Incan ruins. You'll also visit the local market, which gives you a fascinating insight into local life. Your afternoon is yours to relax and explore the city further.

  • The Southern Valley of Cuzco is a little visited area. You will visit the Inca site of Tipon and a small town to sample local tastes and see a slice of day-to-day life with a visit to the market.

  • Travel from Cuzco to Machu Picchu town on the iconic Hiram Bingham train. Upon arrival take the coach to the ruins with your guide and have a fascinating guided tour of the site.

  • You will have the opportunity to explore the ruins again at your own leisure today. We recommend arriving early to explore in the mystical morning light. This afternoon, take the Hiram Bingham train back to Cuzco.

  • Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima in time for your onward international connection.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
