Horton Plains National Park is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by montane grassland and cloudforest.
This plateau is at an altitude of 2,100 to 2,300 metres (6,900 to 7,500 feet) and it is designated as an 'important bird area' with many species not only endemic to Sri Lanka but restricted to the Horton Plains. The World's End (a sheer precipice with a 1,050-metre drop) and Baker's Falls are popular attractions of the park. It is situated 32 kilometres from Nuwara Eliya.
