An enormous mirrored cube that seems to melt into the pine forest... A bird鈥檚 nest suitable for a family of four.... a UFO hovering amid slender tree trunks... The Treehotel offers rooms as singular as the vast Lapland landscape where they reside. Located in a forest just outside the remote town of Harads, this hotel consists of seven distinctively futuristic treehouses, created by Swedish designers. The hotel also hosts a wide range of experiences to help you explore the region, from a moose safari to a bear dinner with the S谩mi.
As an alternative to the much-photographed treehouses, you can opt to stay in one of the six more conventional rooms in The Guesthouse, which have a heritage style. No matter where you sleep, you鈥檒l find simple, snug interiors that boast traditional Swedish design elements like pine wood, reindeer-skin rugs and wool blankets.
Meals consist of seasonal Swedish dishes served at the Treerestaurant, featuring local ingredients wherever possible. You also have the option to dine by candlelight beside the frozen lake or in your own room high in the trees.
We love the unique experience that the Treehotel provides and think it offers a base that鈥檚 as exceptional as the Lapland forests, rivers and mountains.

Rooms
Each of the seven treehouse rooms is unique. Bird’s Nest and Mirrorcube are literal representations of their evocative names, while the bright-red Blue Cone is a simple cabin-style room with a deceptive name. The UFO looks like a 1950s-style flying saucer. The Cabin is built at the precipice of a steep hillside and offers sweeping views from its wooden terrace. Dragonfly is the largest, with a clean, mid-century feel inside and out. The most recent addition, 7th Room, wraps around a pine tree. There are bathrooms with composting toilets in every treehouse, and room service, but only Dragonfly and 7th Room have a shower.
Guesthouse rooms are less dramatic in style and location, but have comfortable interiors with a light and airy feel. Showers are available in The Guesthouse for all guests. Breakfast and dinner are also served here, with a focus on hearty, home-cooked dishes.
Location
The hotel is located in pine forest just outside the tiny, remote town of Harads, slightly south of the Arctic Circle. You鈥檙e an 11-hour drive from Stockholm, nestled in a lush boreal forest beside the Lule氓 River, with views of surrounding mountains.
