Avant-garde design and industrial-chic styling make the Cross River Kwai unlike any other hotel in the Kanchanaburi region. The concept encourages guests to cross to (x2) a new type of hotel experience where designer style and contemporary luxuries are offered in unpretentious surroundings.
The hotel has only 22 rooms and is set in a quiet rural location about 20 minutes outside Kanchanaburi city, but offers all the creativity and style of a cosmopolitan urban hub. Polished concrete, exposed steel and pipe work, rough mountain stone and abandoned industrial materials are all used to great effect.
Balconies are cantilevered over the river, corridors lead to far-reaching views and old machinery and motors have been transformed into furniture and sculptures.
All rooms have views of the river with 14 of them floating directly above the water. The XFloat LuXe Cabins are designed with a private dock on which a complimentary kayak awaits.
The striking restaurant is set in a steel and glass box designed to encourage guests to sit and relax throughout the day, though taxis are available to take you into the town should you wish to eat elsewhere. The hotel also provides bicycles for guest use and has a chic infinity riverside pool.
A chic, design-led hotel that stands out from its competitors, we love the avant-garde architecture at this riverside property that effortlessly reflects the industrial heritage of the area.

The hotel is set on a tranquil section of the River Kwai about 20 minutes outside Kanchanaburi city and is surrounded by rice paddies and sugar cane plantations. Taxis can be arranged to take you to town or any of the many local sights. The hotel also offers complimentary bicycles for exploring the area independently.
Food and drink
The hotel's restaurant, the Bridge Bar & Bistro, is designed to be a communal living space for guests who are encouraged to relax with a coffee or drink at any time of day. Giant walls of glass fit into the steel frame structure which offers the chance to eat indoors or out. The menu features a range of Thai and Western dishes cooked in creative ways and served with unpretentious but impressive style.
