At around 8am this morning you will be collected from your hotel and driven through scenic countryside of thick nipa palms and mahogany forest to the small town of Carmen, where Bohol's Chocolate Hills are located. These perfectly rounded mounds change colour with the seasons, going from bright green in the low season to deep brown in the summer, thus creating a constantly changing backdrop. The viewpoint is accessible via a short hike up some steps, affording you beautiful views out over the surrounding countryside.
Afterwards you will begin your journey to Corella, stopping off at a local market en route where you will have the chance to see and learn about the regional ingredients key to Bohol's cuisine. Corella is home to the Tarsier Sanctuary, which serves as a refuge for the world's smallest primate, the endangered tarsier. While here you can observe these rare, nocturnal creatures in their natural habitat and perhaps meet Carlito Pizarras, also known as the Tarsier Man. Carlito has for many years devoted his life to studying the Philippine tarsiers, now officially grouped under the genus 'Carlito'.
Your last stop of the day will be at the Bohol Bee Farm, located in Dao, Dauis. This is where lunch will be served. The resident organic garden makes for a lovely excursion, allowing you to see where the food on your plate comes from. All the food is prepared using locally grown organic ingredients from the farm.
After lunch you will be taken back to your hotel.
