Bermagui is a charming and sleepy coastal village that has a well-earned reputation for being an outstanding fishing spot. The continental shelf is at its closest point off Bermagui which is the reason for the excellent fishing, especially big game fishing for marlin, tuna and shark.

In town the Fish Co-op offers freshly caught seafood by the pretty harbor and the 'Blue Pool' is a large attractive salt water pool offering an unusual swimming experience. The town also has many safe swimming spots off a choice of stunning quiet beaches and great surfing.

The rugged Wallaga Lake National Park offers excellent boating, fishing, bushwalking and swimming and to the north the beautiful heritage town Tilba Tilba is worth visiting because of the unusual scenery and its arts and crafts shops.
