Nestled in a quiet valley surrounded by towering majestic Karri forests, Pemberton is a base from which to explore some of the world's tallest trees, and quite literally take time to stop and smell the flowers.

During spring there is a spectacular wildflower season in what has become known as the 'back Garden of Perth'.

Exploring Pemberton

This quirky old timber town with a handful of shops, cafés and a lively hotel pub (do arrive early enough to eat here as the options for dining are limited) is a great place to stop en route to Denmark and Albany.

Meanwhile the old Pemberton Tramway, originally designed to transport trees to the mills in town now takes visitors through the incredible Karri Forests, and virgin vegetation of Warren and Beedelup National Parks.

Enjoy the local seafood delicacy of Marron — a freshwater crayfish — or sample some of the region's great cool-climate wines.
