Culinary Tour of Shanghai

The tour begins in Sipailou Road, a street lined by food stalls selling a variety of regional specialities. There is also a small food market here which will provide a great opportunity to witness a slice of everyday life in Shanghai. Here, you'll be introduced to the history of Shanghai cuisine and to different kinds of local delicacies such as grilled aubergine and fried chestnuts with sugar.

Following this, you'll progress on to Yuyuan market, where you'll have the opportunity try some traditional local dim sum (Chinese style) food such as soup dumplings, fried noodles and fried dumplings. Your guide will explain more about each delicacy you try.

You'll end the tour in a famous local dim sum restaurant, an opportunity to taste more of the food you'll have seen earlier in the day.
