Casa de Isabella's history is filled with the charm and customs of a golden era in Santa Marta that is gone but not forgotten. This beautiful boutique hotel is full of tradition and is located in the center of Santa Marta, the first city to be founded in Colombia 1525. In 1850 the part of the Manzanares River, which crossed the section of Second Street where Casa de Isabella is located, receded and allowed wealthy families to develop homes in the area. The homes of this era were built in the colonial style which to this day defines the historic feel of Santa Marta's El Centro Historico.
Casa de Isabella perfectly combines the tranquility and historical feel of the courtyard with modern hotel conveniences of today. Every aspect of the experience, from modern Wi-Fi and I-Pads for guests to historically restored furniture and handmade items, carries the hotel forward through the coming generations, whilst keeping it solidly anchored in its rich history and tradition.
