Situated just outside the heart of Grasse and surrounded by cypress and olive trees, La Bastide Saint-Antoine is a delightful manor house hotel laid out like a private home. This late-17th-century Provençal property has been renovated and expanded over time to include an additional wing and larger gardens. It was once the preferred vacation home of Joseph P. Kennedy while he was the United States ambassador to the United Kingdom. Today, La Bastide Saint-Antoine is a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux group.
Guest rooms here are spread across two buildings. The main building has 11 rooms and is decorated in a Provençal style with sweeping views of the countryside, while the second building houses five suites and an apartment with a more contemporary style.
La Bastide Saint-Antoine also boasts a Michelin-starred restaurant with a dedicated sommelier, open daily for lunch and dinner, as well as a large outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, multiple outdoor seating areas and indoor common areas with unique art installations.
We love the hilltop location of La Bastide Saint-Antoine and the feeling of staying in a private and elegant Provençal home, with the added bonus of excellent service and friendly staff.

Rooms
The rooms, suites and apartments, which vary between a typical Provençal and a more modern style, are spread across two different buildings. The traditional rooms feature pale tones, terracotta floors, original fireplaces, fine linens and embroidered bedspreads, while the contemporary rooms are sleek and stylish with a more international feel. All rooms include amenities such as air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi and a tub and shower. Deluxe rooms have hardwood floors and small sitting areas, while some suites feature fireplaces or private terraces.
Location
Situated inland and set back from the coast, La Bastide Saint-Antoine overlooks the sweeping hillsides of Grasse, its vast grounds sheltering over 1,000 citrus and herb trees, an olive grove and trickling fountains.
From here, it's about a five-minute drive to the Fragonard perfumery and about a ten-minute drive to the heart of Grasse. Saint-Tropez is about an hour and a half away when traffic is good and Nice is just under an hour's drive toward the coast.
Food and drink
The Michelin-starred restaurant on the premises is open for lunch and dinner, serving local, seasonal dishes and wines selected by the dedicated sommelier. Here you can order from a six- or nine-course prix-fixe (fixed price) menu or the à la carte menu. We also recommend enjoying an evening apéritif in the private gardens or on the tree-lined outdoor terrace, which has lovely views over the grounds.
Facilities and activities
La Bastide Saint-Antoine boasts a myriad of facilities, including a large pool and Jacuzzi, a small gym and a variety of outdoor seating areas.
The staff can also arrange activities for you during your stay, such as a wine tasting in a private cellar, private cooking courses with the chef, and bicycle rentals.
Accessibility
While the hotel has an elevator and some accessible rooms, the property itself has some hills and steps that may be difficult to navigate for those with limited mobility.
