Whether you want to relax by Lake Alster or explore Hamburg’s market square, Hotel Atlantic Kempinski is centrally located to it all. This grand hotel, with its imposing white façade, offers a luxe experience with an opulent spa, variety of restaurants and private cinema.
The impressive exterior carries through to the lobby, where you’ll be greeted by a marble staircase with a brass bannister, red-marble pillars and a black-oak reception desk. The dark leather chairs, chandeliers and grand piano give the hotel an elegant and historical feel. Hotel Atlantic Kempinski was once the hotel of choice for first class passengers on cruises from the US, and this maritime past is evident in details like brass cannons in the hallways and lights resembling portholes.
There are 221 rooms and suites, all generously sized and some featuring views out over the blue waters of Lake Alster.
We love this hotel for its elegance, rich history and amenities. Its maritime past shines in the decor, linking the hotel with one of Hamburg’s main appeals — its waterfront.
