Today, you will pick up your hire car and take your time driving through the countryside of East Germany. You will drive through nature parks and pretty scenery perfect for a picnic stop before reaching your hotel in Dresden.

Today you will take a short drive outside of Dresden to visit the world-famous Meissen Manufactory. For over 300 years, Meissen porcelain has demonstrated craftsmanship of the highest standard, which you will be able to see in action on a guided tour. After meeting with the craftspeople, the whole family will get the chance to paint their own piece of porcelain to keep as a souvenir of your trip. After your day at the manufactory, you will return to Dresden for an evening in the city.

Today you will start to drive west into Bavaria toward Nuremberg. Take your time to split up the drive and stop at some traditional towns on the way to create precious family memories.

Today, you and the family will venture underneath the city of Nuremberg to the labyrinth of underground corridors that make up the rock-cut cellars. Originally used to ripen and store beer, and then used as shelters during World War II, this underground maze is a fun and educational way to experience the city's history. After a break for lunch, you will take part in a family gingerbread cooking class where your private tutor will teach you how to make your own traditional German gingerbread.

Today, you will drive further west to the picturesque town of Rothenburg. This town is a highlight on the Romantic Road and is quintessentially Bavarian, showcasing beautiful half-timbered houses, pastel-painted stone walls and cobbled streets.

Today, you will explore the streets of Rothenburg before taking part in a chocolate-making workshop. A local chocolatier will show you and the family how to create your own chocolate figurines for you to take home (if you can resist temptation!). After some free time as a family, you will be transported back to medieval times on an evening city tour with a Night Watchman.

Today you will drive south to the Bavarian capital, Munich. There is the option of taking the Romantic Road route through the forests, mountains and picturesque towns, or you can opt for a more direct route. Once you arrive in Munich, spend time together exploring what this charming city has to offer.

Today, you will drive a short distance from Munich to visit the BMW Museum. You will take a group tour of the museum to learn about the history of this iconic Munich brand as well as get up close and personal to a variety of car and motorcycle models.

Today you will enjoy a family day out in the great outdoors. Leave the car behind, and take a train to the foothills of the Bavarian Alps to catch a chairlift to the summit where your guide will take you all on a light mountain hike through this beautiful landscape. After a stop for lunch, you will race each other through the forests on a thrilling mountain toboggan ride.
