Hotel Ganimede

Galaxidi, Greece

Set in a former sea captain’s house that dates from 1890, Hotel Ganimede is a family-run property that offers a home away from home. A small pathway decorated with painted ceramic tiles and lined with pots of flowers leads off the street to an inner courtyard filled with wooden benches, sofas and shady trees.

The main building is decorated in traditional style and is home to eight of the eleven rooms. The remaining three rooms can be found on the other side of the courtyard. All the rooms differ in style and size and range from traditional rooms with antique furniture and period artwork to the Modern Suite which is decorated in contemporary style. Some rooms also have a small kitchenette and the large Traditional Suite can sleep up to five guests.

Chrisoula and Costas, the owners of the hotel, pride themselves on their award-winning breakfasts which consist of an abundant array of homemade treats including jams and fresh pastries with ingredients sourced from the area. The small, covered winter garden within the courtyard is a good place to relax and enjoy an evening drink.

OUR OPINION:

We love Hotel Ganimede for its simple charm and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Located in the heart of Galaxidi, it offers a great base to explore the town and its nearby attractions.
