Odera

Tinos, Greece

Odera Tinos is the first luxury boutique hotel on Tinos, one of the most unspoiled islands in the Cyclades. Located on the island’s quieter side, overlooking a bay and the Aegean Sea, the property is secluded but connected with the main town of Chora just a short drive away.

Carved into a cliff, the hotel has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the island’s natural beauty. You’ll find the heritage of Tinos woven into every detail, from decor to dining.

Interiors are imbued by local artisanship, inspired by island hues, and combine clean lines with wood and white stone for an understated look. Rooms are filled with furniture handcrafted by skilled Tinian artisans, and the island’s green marble is evident throughout, carved into oversize bathtubs and an intricately sculpted bar.

Spa treatments use island minerals, while restaurant dishes are crafted by Cycladic chefs and feature locally sourced ingredients like thyme honey and kopanisti (a whipped feta).

You can dine on scallops and sea urchins on the terrace while gazing out over the emerald bay in warmer months, or retreat to Eos bar during cooler weather for cocktails in front of the fireplace.

Alternatively, head to the large infinity pool for uninterrupted sea views and an extensive menu of Greek island wines. Or, take a short stroll down to the hotel’s tucked-away cove to feast on the catch of the day with sand between your toes.

OUR OPINION:

Minimalist suites sculpted from the cliffs are almost as dazzling as the sea views. But it’s the attention to detail that really makes this hotel stand out, from locally sourced ingredients and Greek-inspired spa treatments to the bathtubs carved from Tinos marble.

Rooms

Built on levels cut into the cliffside, the hotel’s one- and two-bed rooms and suites all come with a private terrace or balcony offering panoramic sea views. Some suites open out onto large, private pools that span the length of the terrace, while others come with pools that stretch out towards the sea and sky.

The decor is pure decidedly minimalist. Cool earth tone and inky blue combine with calming woods, white stone, and marble to echo the hues and textures of the Tinian landscape. Expect walk-in showers.

Location

Located on Tinos’s lesser-visited southwest coast, Odera sits above the pretty bay of Vourni Beach — a short stroll or golf cart ride from the hotel. Just a 15-minute drive away, you’ll find the island’s capital and port, Chora, and local attractions including the Church of Panagia Evangelistria, and Kionia Archaeological Site.
