Located in the caldera in the heart of Oia, Santorini Secret Suites & Spa is a boutique property with a magical setting. The pedestrian marble walkway through Oia separates the main part of the hotel, which descends into the caldera along stone staircases, and the hotel’s villa which is at street level.
Rooms are located over several levels with terraces looking out to the sea and onto the walkways connecting different areas of the hotel. All rooms benefit from a terrace area with hot tub or plunge pool, which creates a memorable setting for breakfast in the mornings and champagne at sunset.
With just 17 rooms, the property has an intimate feel to it. However, the facilities are those of a larger hotel. There’s a Greek-Japanese fusion restaurant with an outdoor dining terrace, a small, but well-situated pool and a convenient pool bar serving cocktails for poolside sipping. Spa services are also available, and all the lively shopping and dining of the heart of Oia is right outside the entrance.
We think Santorini Secret is the quintessential Santorini hotel — romantic, cave-style rooms, glittering whitewashed exteriors, private pools, and expansive views of the sea and the caldera from every room.

Rooms
The 17 rooms of the hotel are dug into the caldera walls and connected to each other and to the public areas of the hotel by a series of steep stone staircases. All rooms are decorated in typical Santorini cave style with predominantly white interiors with pops of bright accent shades. Each room has its own terrace with an outdoor hot tub or plunge pool and even the smallest rooms are spacious by Santorini standards. Higher category rooms are even more spacious and a bit brighter. All room categories feature smart TV, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Location
The hotel is located in the town of Oia and spread across two sides of the main, marble-paved road of the town. The main section of the hotel is in the cliffside of the caldera, the different levels connected by stone steps, while the hotel villa sits at street level. Both overlook the sea and offer dramatic views and allow easy access to all the restaurants and shops of Oia.
Food and drink
A fresh à la carte breakfast is served in the main restaurant but guests can also opt to have breakfast on their private terraces. Later in the day, the hotel’s Black Rock restaurant serves a modern Greek menu on a terrace high above the sea. There is also a pool bar which serves light snacks during the day and drinks into the evening.
Facilities and activities
What the main pool lacks in size, it makes up for in views, with the sweeping panorama over the caldera an arresting sight. Despite its size, the pool doesn’t feel overly crowded as the hotel has only 17 rooms and each room has a private pool or hot tub. The property also offers a small spa with a single treatment cabin and a full menu of services.
