This hotel has a distinctively 'Old Raj' feel but with present day comforts.
The comfortable rooms are furnished with wooden floors, lovely rugs, there are open fires in some rooms, though not all, and hot water bottles are provided in the evenings. Antique period furniture and wonderful art work fills the extensive and elegant communal area close to the lobby, where tea is served in the afternoon and which feels snug enough to be your own sitting room. A fire is lit in the elaborate fireplace here, a pianist sometimes plays the grand piano and fixed menu meals are served in the large dining room with continental, Chinese and Indian options available.
