Fort Rawla, Narlai

Rawla Narlai

Narlai, India

Rawla Narlai is a 17th century fort which has been converted into a small, friendly hotel. Each of the twenty-six comfortably rustic rooms are different but all are traditionally furnished and surround an inner courtyard, blooming with frangipani and brilliant pink bougainvillea.

Situated in a small village midway between Jodhpur and Udaipur, the hotel is a great base from which to visit the local Jain temples, be welcomed into a home for 'chai' and walk up the 350-foot granite hill, topped by a stone elephant and boasting wonderful views over the village. The hotel also has a pool for cooling off after the tough walk!
