Aman Venice

Aman Venice

Venice, Italy

Built in the 16th century, the Aman Venice is located directly on the Grand Canal, just steps away from the Rialto Bridge and less than a ten-minute walk to St Mark’s Square. The hotel is set within the grand Palazzo Papadopoli, one of the first Renaissance palaces in Venice to have an elevator as well as one of the first homes to feature electric-powered chandeliers and a phone system, and it’s no surprise that the property remains at the forefront as one of Venice’s premiere hotels.

The canal-front Baroque building features soaring ceilings ornamented with original frescoes that have been carefully restored to their former glory. The lavishness of the public areas continues through to the 24 guest rooms, which contain period furnishings alongside contemporary conveniences.

The hotel’s restaurant, Arva, offers an elegant menu that features seasonally inspired Venetian dishes crafted from local ingredients. During the summer, alfresco dining is also available in the hotel’s garden, which overlooks the city’s waterway.

The chic, adults-only spa provides a full range of services, from manicures to body scrubs, and the small well-equipped gym boasts panoramic views of the city. The hotel also offers a hidden jetty entrance, roof terrace and a well-stocked library.

OUR OPINION:

While Venice is home to a number of magnificent hotels, the grandeur of the Aman Venice makes it a particularly indulgent option.

Many feature restored frescoes, silk wall coverings, oak parquet floors and sparkling chandeliers.
