Itinerary idea in detail

Ask us if you would also like us to arrange your international flights at our preferred rates.

  • On arrival, you will be met by your private driver who will transfer you to your hotel. Verona was made famous as the setting for Shakespeare’s 'Romeo and Juliet', and is an incredibly romantic city. The Verona Opera Festival launched in 1913 with a performance of Aida to celebrate Giuseppe Verdi’s 100th birthday. Since that day, the Verona Arena has been home to one of the biggest open-air opera festivals hosted in an ancient Roman amphitheatre. Verona is the place to be during the festival. Enjoy settling in this afternoon and soaking up the atmosphere.

  • Today you will have a private guided tour. You’ll explore the charming medieval heart of the city, taking in sights such as the Piazza delle Erbe, once the site of the city’s Roman marketplace and forum. A chance to relax in the afternoon before getting ready for the first opera performance and your behind-the-scenes tour that takes you to the no-access areas as the stagehands and artists prepare for this evening's performance. Just before the overture begins, you will be escorted to your seats.

  • The opera finishes after midnight, so this morning take your time to relax and maybe explore Verona a little. Head toward Piazza Erbe for a light lunch. Your driver will collect you from your hotel and take you to Valpolicella for a winery tour and tasting of some of the region's finest wines, including Amarone. This evening why not walk among the crowds, waiting to enter the amphitheatre and enjoy a pre-dinner drink in Piazza Bra, a great place to people watch.

  • Today you will have time to prepare for the evening events. Your next opera performance, this time joining a small group of fellow opera fans for a Michelin-starred dinner on one of the oldest terraces in Verona that joins to a wing of the amphitheatre. The dinner is prepared by a Michelin-starred chef accompanied by an exclusive wine list. Once you have finished dinner, you will be escorted to the Royal open-air box, a premium location to take your seats and enjoy the opera of your choice.

  • Today is free for you to recover and enjoy Verona at a leisurely pace. Across the river from central Verona, located on Via Santo Stefano is Funicolare di Castel San Pietro. The uphill ride takes just over one minute to a viewing platform that will reward you with some of the best views of the city and its surrounding area. You can explore the many small backstreets filled with bars and trattorias with tables outside to sit and take your time after a late night.

  • After breakfast, you will be met for your private transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
