Anjajavy is set on a stretch of idyllic and unspoilt coastline overlooking the Mozambique Channel. There is a long sandy beach in front of the hotel flanked by limestone cliffs.
The hotel itself is set in extensive tropical gardens and is backed by deciduous forest. Early in the morning Madagascar lovebirds can be seen flying between the palm trees along with bright red fodys and the bright yellow Madagascar wagtail. It is also not unusual to see groups of common brown lemurs and sifakas in the trees around the hotel.
The hotel is small and personal with just 25 rosewood villas all facing the sea. Each villa has been designed to offer superb comfort. There is a large spacious bedroom, en suite bathroom with large tub and shower and WC. Above the main bedroom is a mezzanine level which has a further two beds and can be used for children or as a relaxation area. The villa is air-conditioned. Outside on the large decks you find two deckchairs and a lovely hammock — the perfect place for snoozing on a hot afternoon.
At the back of immaculate lawns studded with palm trees is the restaurant and bar. Food is excellent at Anjajavy with fresh pastries for breakfast and à la carte lunches and dinners. Afternoon tea is served every day at 5pm in the Oasis, a beautiful tropical garden which lemurs are common visitors to.
Anjajavy is perfect for relaxation, however those who like to be active have lots to choose from. There is a good sized pool at the back of the beach and waterskiing, catamarans, wind surfing, snorkeling and kayaking on the sea or in the mangrove swamps are all included during the cost of your stay. Other activities such as boat trips to other idyllic beaches, village visits, guided forest walks and deep sea fishing can be arranged for an extra cost.
