Urubamba River

White water rafting on the Urubamba

Today will take you above Cuzco to the Chuquicahuana section of the Urubamba River to raft on class III-IV rapids. Here the river is much cleaner and more fun than in the lower sections, and no previous experience is necessary.

You will be collected from your hotel to drive to the river. On arrival you will have a full safety briefing and instruction before setting off for approximately two hours of fun white-water rafting. The river starts gently with time to practice the maneuvers required, then builds up with more fun rapids through a beautiful canyon where you may be able to see local wildlife and birds including torrent ducks, as well as views of the surrounding peaks. After approximately two hours of rafting you reach the take out point where you will change before returning to Cuzco. Lunch and snacks are included, as well as all equipment.

Please note that this trip only operates from April to November since the water level is too high outside of these months.
