A former 18th-century manor house, the Quinta da Pacheca wine hotel is set overlooking vineyards on the banks of the Douro River. The decor is a mix of the modern and the classic with contemporary artworks dotted between the main building’s stone staircases and large fireplaces.
The 15 rooms in the main building follow a classic design theme, with floral bedspreads and co-ordinating pillows and seating, though bathrooms are more modern. As standard, all rooms offer air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. Outside, you’ll find a further 10 barrel rooms where you can stay in giant re-purposed wine barrels that have been converted into mini, cabin-style rooms overlooking the surrounding vineyards.
Quinta da Pacheca gives the feel of being on a working farm with buildings surrounding the main manor house still being used for making wine and port. Guests staying during the grape harvest can take part in the harvest and enjoy picnics and tastings in the vineyards. However, you can enjoy the hotel’s excellent wine and cuisine throughout the year in its acclaimed restaurant which offers views over the Douro Valley.
The property it is just over half an hour from Pinhão and an hour and a half from Porto.

Accessibility
The hotel does not have an elevator, so we would not recommend this property for those with mobility issues.
