Perched on the southern shore of Terceira, overlooking the Atlantic, Terceira Mar Hotel combines spacious modern rooms with sweeping ocean views. The hotel is just outside Angra do Heroísmo, near the distinctive bulk of Mount Brasil, making it convenient for walks along the mountain’s paths or strolling into the heart of the old town.

The 139 rooms and suites all have generous windows to make the most of the water views, and many have balconies where you can sit outside to soak up the ocean breezes. You can take advantage of the many eateries in Angra do Heroísmo, which is the oldest city in the Azores, or dine at Monte Brasil Restaurant, overlooking Fanal Bay.

The 139 rooms and suites are all spacious and airy, with classic decor in shades of cream accented by forest green, which reflects the surrounding hills. All the rooms come with an ocean view and many offer balconies. Modern amenities, like Wi-Fi and air conditioning, are standard in all rooms.

Location

Perched on the Atlantic coast, Terceira Mar Hotel is a 15-minute walk to the heart of Angra do Heroísmo. This was once the port of call for all transatlantic ships between 15th and 19th centuries, and the historic old town is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You’re also just a short drive from the trailhead for both Mount Brasil and Mistérios Negro.
