Hotel Aigua Blava

Spain

Set in a scenic location overlooking a small bay on the rugged Costa Brava, the Hotel Aigua Blava is a family-run property with lots of heart. The building was opened in 1934 as a hostel but was later turned into a hotel. Comprised of 80 rooms, many of which boast spectacular sea views, the property’s unassuming nature belies the comfort of the elegantly-styled rooms and good range of facilities on offer.

While the main reception and bar area are more traditional in their design, the rooms have all been decorated in light tones and feature white, wooden headboards, pale floors and deep blue accents. Many have sea views and the main restaurant terrace is a particular highlight offering sweeping views across the rocky, pine-fringed bay.

As well as offering direct access to a small, pebbly cove and easy coastal walking trails, the hotel has a panoramic salt-water pool nestled within its grounds, a flood-lit tennis court, volleyball court, table tennis and children’s play area. Bicycle hire and boat trips can also be booked via the reception.

OUR OPINION:

Offering some of the best views in the Costa Brava, we find the Aigua Blava Hotel to be a great spot to unwind while at the same time remaining within easy striking distance of Barcelona.
